The National Gatka Association of India (NGAI), an oldest national apex Gatka organization, was constituted in the year 2001 and got registered in 2004. It is affiliated with World Gatka Federation (WGF), Asian Gatka Federation (AGF) and International Sikh Martial Art Council (ISMAC). These organisations have jointly taken up various historic initiatives to promote and introduce martial art Gatka as a recognised sport at national and international level.
The WGF, AGF, ISMAC and NGAI are managing, standardizing, promoting and reviving Gatka as a competitive sport across the globe. The ISMAC, NGAI and its affiliated Gatka Federations/Gatka Associations are organising Gatka Sports Championships/tournaments and ‘Virsa Sambhal’ (Traditional) Gatka competitions to perpetuate the rich legacy of age-old martial art among the future generations on one hand and to revive this dying art on the other.
The office bearers of NGAI have full commitment and utmost dedication to promote this game at international level and desires that Gatka should be included as a game in the Olympics. The NGAI calls upon all to cooperate, support and help earnestly in attaining the desired goal to which the people longing for since decades.
We cordially invites all Gatka players, well-wishers and supporters to all assist this historical martial game by joining/sponsoring/helping in furtherance of this selfless pious cause. We are sure that this game will certainly help to keep away the youngsters from the menace of intoxicants and narcotics besides encourage them to revert to our strong traditional values.
